Multipolar Reports Idr 17.8 Trilion of Revenue and IDR 312 Billion Net Income in 2016

(2 May 2017) In PT Multipolar Tbk (“Multipolar”, IDX: MLPL)’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, the Company reported a revenue of IDR 17.8 trillion, a slight increase from IDR 17.7 trillion the previous year, and a strong net income of IDR 312.4 billion, of which IDR 243.6 billion is the net income attributable to owners of the parent, for fiscal year 2016.

The AGM approved a cash dividend payout of IDR 24,155,393,575 or IDR 2.4/share.

The AGM also approved the appointment of the Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors for the 2017 – 2019 period:

Eddy Handoko, President Director of the Company, says, “Despite a challenging year for retail, the Company’s overall business portfolio successfully maintained, even grew slightly, its revenues in 2016. Operating improvements of its other subsidiaries, plus gain from the monetization of part of its shares at Matahari Department Store, result in a significant improvement in the Company’s 2016 net income. We look forward to a turnaround in the domestic economy and new growth opportunities in 2017.”
